Job Summary
Develops, implements, administers, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolves database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues. Works with application team to design database objects that meets business requirements and production standards. This requires obtaining application knowledge while working with architects, data modelers, and application developers. Ensures the performance of the databases and application code from development to production. Installs and migrates object changes through multiple test environments and production. Works on complex projects. Develops and implements database recovery plans and procedures. Installs, upgrades and tests complex database software. Works in multiple projects simultaneously which spans multiple applications releases.
Responsibilities

Senior Technical Role:
Lead out and provide technical guidance, resolve complex issues, and work on complex projects
Ability to learn new technologies and facilitate knowledge sharing with team
Be a mentors to other staff members
Work on roadmaps and capacity planning
Teamwork:
- Willing and able to share work and collaborate with other team members
Documentation:
Develop & share documented Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP )
Develop & share architecture diagrams and run-books
Automation:
Improve efficiently by automating repetitive tasks
Share automated scripts or programs with team
Monitoring:
Monitor systems and provide health status to team and management
Ensure databases are up/healthy and secure by monitoring systems and resolving issues as they arise, including performance tuning, etc.
Gather metrics and present reports or findings to management
Proactively monitor data storage capacity and project growth requirements
Security:
Develops, implements, administers, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of databases.
Develop and implement backup, restore, and database recovery plans
Manage DB User Access
Perform End-of-Life Support prevention upgrades, and apply patches to address vulnerabilities
Customer Service:
Work with customers and application teams to design database objects that meets business requirements and production standards. This requires obtaining application knowledge while working with architects, data modelers, and application developers, etc.
Maintain positive relationship with customers and translate business requirements into technical solutions
Work with customers on Software Development Life Cycle through multiple development, test, production and other environments
Monitor & resolve ticket queues to ensure high quality of customer service and meet SLA timelines.
Daily Work:
Expected to learn and become proficient in all database technologies that we administer, including Cloud platform technologies
Implement data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
Resolves database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues.
Ensures the performance of the databases by managing configuration and DB objects to work with application code from development to production.
Refresh production databases to Non-Prod environments as requested
Works on complex projects both on-premises and on the Cloud
Install, upgrade, and test complex database software
Works in multiple projects simultaneously which spans multiple applications releases
Troubleshoot issues as they arise in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications
Require a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 5 years of experience in database administration or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
