State of Utah - Jobs Purchasing Agent II in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Division of Purchasing is seeking a new Purchasing Agent to assist with the administrative functions of managing purchase orders and contracts within the State s finance system,as well as supporting contract management support for state agencies. Salary Range for Purchasing Agent II: $22.67 - $35.94/hour (Candidates will be hired towards the lower end of the pay range) This position may be considered for flexible/hybrid telework up to 2 days per week! (Work must be performed in Utah.) Applicants who live greater than 50 miles from the primary work location will be considered for this position with a full-time telework arrangement to include occasional mandatory in office meetings. Please note,a position's eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason. Our office is located in the Taylorsville State Office Building at 4315 S. 2700 West,Taylorsville,UT.  As a Purchasing Agent you will:

  • Prepare quotes,bids,requests for proposals (RFPs) and contracts.
  • Manage statewide cooperative contracts.
  • Conduct vendor outreach on statewide cooperative contracts for contract management.
  • Oversee and assist with procurement decisions for the State of Utah Executive Branch agencies.
  • Assist in the improvement of policies and procedures for the division.
  • Research market conditions,life cycle cost analysis,cost-benefit relationship analysis,and alternative supply sourcing.
  • Assist in creating Purchase Orders and processing contracts in the finance system.
  • Assist in contract management support of agency contracts.
  • Conduct data analysis on contracts.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues regarding missing reports and discrepancies in usage fees.
  • Provide reporting for management regarding agency and statewide cooperative contracts.
