Job SummaryThe Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a advanced practice clinician (NP/PA) to function as a member of the Wasatch Kidney Specialists team. The team member would be responsible for delivering nephrology care to patients in an inpatient setting as a consulting provider. The position involves caring for patients at Saint Marks Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS hospital, and Promise Hospital of Salt Lake. The provider will be responsible for covering inpatient nephrology at the above locations 26 weeks a year (call from 0700-1800 daily).Our Nephrology APCs are valued members of our team and work independently as well as collaboratively with the physicians. The team currently consists of 4 physicians and 3 APCs. The faculty physicians will act as mentors as the APC transitions into this nephrology practice. There will be ongoing education opportunities with weekly conferences and didactics specifically geared towards nephrology.Minimum QualificationsRequiredCurrent licensure to practice as a Nurse practitioner or Physicians Assistant from the State of Utah.PreferredPhysician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) credentialed through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants OR Doctorate of Nursing Practice with National Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP or Adult Acute Care NP.Experience providing nephrology care.Utah State prescriptive privilege preferred.Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
