The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidates for one or more postdoctoral research associate positions. The postdoctoral associate will have opportunity to participate in intramurally and extramurally-funded projects focused on improving the health of and achieving health equity among populations experiencing health disparities. Examples of projects include tobacco control and cancer screening/early detection among populations experiencing cancer-related health inequities. We seek applications from exceptional individuals in the areas of biobehavioral, clinical and/or translational, public health, and other areas relevant to health equity. Candidates with experience working with racial and ethnic minorities, immigrants, and refugee populations are strongly encouraged to apply.The position is designed to prepare individuals for independent academic research careers. Individuals selected for this position(s) will have opportunities to lead and/or co-author manuscript publications and share project investigator roles in a manner commensurate with their experience and effort.Salary level is competitive and in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act for postdoctoral researchers effective December 1, 2016, as well as the 2021 Kirschstein-NRSA salary schedule for levels 0-4.
