Job Summary

Applicants are invited to apply for NIH and VA funded POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS in Retinal Neurobiology laboratory. We are interested in the cellular and molecular mechanisms, which regulate the formation of retinal synaptic circuitry. Available projects involve the investigation of (1) the formation and regulation of synaptic circuitry of the retina, and (2) neuroprotection of retinal neurons under disease conditions using morphological, physiological, imaging, and genetic approaches and mouse models.

Successful applicants should be highly self-motivated and with solid background in retinal neuroscience. Although specific experimental approaches will be taught during the postdoctoral training, the candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas would be preferred: immunohistochemistry, high-resolution microscopy (such as confocal, two-photon imaging), in vivo or ex vivo retinal neurophysiology (such as patch clamp, calcium imaging, in vivo ERG , in vivo OCT ), mouse retinal disease models (such as ONC , and glaucoma), image-based analysis, programming in FIJI , Imaris, or Igor.
