If this is you,then the Office of Communicable Diseases (OCD) wants you as one of our next Disease Response,Evaluation,Analysis,and Monitoring (DREAM) Team Lead (Epidemiology Manager I). The DREAM Program One Health Team Lead will provides leadership and direction to a diverse group of highly skilled staff,including one Epidemiologist II and several interns. The Team Lead ensures all aspects of program management are attended to,including disease surveillance and outbreak investigation,data analysis,report writing,personnel hiring and management,mentoring,and engagement and collaboration with programs within DHHS and key partners (clinical,related to animal and agriculture,etc.),and contract and grant management to accomplish goals of the program. The Epidemiology Manager I will serve as the One Health Team Lead coordinating the activities of the One Health Team in the DREAM Program. The position will directly supervise one Epidemiologist II,and several interns. The Team Lead will oversee grant activities,budgets,and contracts,and will ensure grant applications and reports are completed by established deadlines. The Team Lead will also oversee data collection,data quality,and data analysis,disease and outbreak detection,investigation and response,and report writing,related to arboviral and zoonotic diseases,including West Nile Virus and rabies,ensuring alignment with DHHS,Division of Population Health (DPH) and OCD policies and goals,and will ensure Program documents and plans are updated as needed.  In addition,the Team Lead will review,edit,and approve travel requests,procedural documents,purchase orders,and other administrative documents,according to established policies and procedures. The One Health Team Lead will also work closely with partners,including local health departments,mosquito abatement districts,clinicians,CDC,and other state and federal agencies and programs,in order to effectively accomplish goals and objectives of the Program. In addition,the Team lead will serve as a subject matter expert and key technical resource to staff on arboviral and zoonotic diseases; communicable disease surveillance,investigation,and mitigation; as well as data analysis and information sharing. The Team Lead will also ensure staff are aware of,and in compliance with,DHHS standards and policies,and work with staff to ensure program work is in alignment with DHHS,DPH,and OCD strategies,goals,and policies. Health Insurance - Public Employee Health P rogram (PEHP):

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS)

:

  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 re in the Tier I Public Employees System.
  • Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. 
    • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
    • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.  
  • Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

Paid Time Off

:

  • Annual leave and s ick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick).
  • Annual leave amounts increase with years of service. 
  • We have 12 paid holidays.
