Intermountain Health Nurse Manager Assistant Cancer Transplant in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description:

This position assists a Nurse Manager in providing management and oversight of daily Nursing activities to a Nursing Department. He/she is accountable to provide leadership and perform appropriate management functions delegated by the Nurse Manager including: resource allocation, safe working environment, optimal patient care, development of departmental structure, process, and outcome standards. This position has accountability typically limited to one unit. This position typically reports to a Nurse Manager. Typical Distribution of Job Duties: 60% Tactical, 35% Operational, 5% Strategic. Definitions: Tactical - Duties include ensuring appropriate staffing, availability of equipment, and employee relations (day-to-day activities). Operational - Duties include budget management, budget development, supply acquisition, process improvement, and employee performance evaluations. Strategic - Duties include developing goals to meet the Intermountain/Regional Strategic Plan and holding employees accountable to goals.

Unit Information

Cancer Transplant unit is a highly specialized and complex unit that delivers care to those patients, newborn through young adult, who are receiving treatment for cancer, blood and marrow disorders. The interdisciplinary team approach is the forefront of our service line. Nurse collaboration and delivery of care are imperative elements to safe patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).

  • RN License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • Leadership/supervisory experience.

  • 2 years clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in area of oversight

  • Chemo and bone marrow transplant trained as will spend time on the floor as needed.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
