    JOB SUMMARY

    Direct service position working with households experiencing homelessness. Engage with people experiencing homelessness in a daytime resource center and in an outreach capacity, connect them to housing assistance and other supportive services. Assist with program upkeep tasks and works with internal and external partners to ensure a continuity of service around coordinated entry.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, or other closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide direct connection to the Coordinated Entry System for households experiencing homelessness.

  • Provides general support and coordination to all Coordinated Entry-related projects and activities

  • Works in coordination with the SLVCEH Coordinated Entry Task Group, Committee, and Program Manager.

  • Provide training and education for community partners on Coordinated Entry System

  • Facilitates working relationships with community partners in order to increase community access to in coordinated entry.

  • Maintains awareness of system upgrades and enhancements that may have a potential impact on current and future CES functionality.

  • Comply with local and federal Coordinated Entry expectations and requirements.

  • Works closely with all SLVCEH partners, ensuring good working relationships.

  • Engage with the unsheltered populations to facilitate participation in coordinated entry.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

    Knowledge of:

  • Community resources and their related services

  • Principles and practices of providing social services to culturally diverse populations

  • Public relations

  • Homeless Management Information System

  • Trauma informed interviewing skills

    Skills and Abilities to:

  • Set priorities and work independently.

  • Work effectively with diverse populations

  • Perform outreach services

  • Prepare and maintain complex reports and records.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public

  • Interact effectively with individuals of various social, economic and ethnic backgrounds

  • Follow verbal and written procedures and instructions

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Use personal computers and related software applications

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work duties are usually performed in a typical office environment.

Will be required travel to locations throughout the County to meet with people experiencing homelessness, provider agencies, attend meetings with other community partners, and participate in community events.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION

This is a time-limited position without tenure and is exempt from the career service system.
