Your Opportunity

The Manager, Learning Design will lead a dynamic team of instructional designers and will work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create innovative, effective, and cutting-edge learning solutions. Reporting to the Director, Global LOD, this role ensures alignment with organizational goals and provides superior employee experience by delivering impactful learning programs that drive professional growth and business results.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with the organization's business goals and priorities.

  • Identify emerging trends, skills, and competencies to future-proof the workforce through innovative learning initiatives.

  • Partner with business leaders to ensure learning programs directly contribute to organizational performance and success.

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of diverse learning solutions, including eLearning, instructor-led training, blended learning, and microlearning.

  • Explore and integrate AI, VR, AR, and other advanced technologies to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences.

  • Ensure all instructional materials are innovative, engaging, and aligned with adult learning principles and best practices.

  • Support inclusion by incorporating accessible and universal design principles in product development and delivery and facilitate translations.

  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure effectiveness

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget.

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the consistency and accuracy of all learning materials.

  • Use data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery.

Lead Stantec’s Instructional Design Team

  • Lead, manage and develop the instructional design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to instructional design team members.

  • Set key performance goals for team members for individual development and contribution to the organization’s learning success.

  • Act as a strategic consultant to leaders, providing guidance on how learning initiatives can solve business challenges and enhance leadership capabilities.

  • Facilitate global knowledge sharing and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive experience in designing and executing business-aligned learning strategies within a global context.

  • Prior experience leading an instructional design function, including managing teams and overseeing the development and delivery of learning solutions.

  • Expertise in instructional design principles, innovative learning technologies, and adult learning theories.

  • Proven success in leading and managing high-performing global teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their application in learning and development.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate), and multimedia development tools.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite

  • Dynamic, adaptable to change and enjoys working in a challenging and collaborative environment.

  • Knowledge of course development software such as Articulate 360 and/or Adobe Captivate

  • The ability to storyboard/outline course content.

  • Experience with graphic design, videography, and photography preferred.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $128,200 - $192,200 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
