JOB SUMMARYPerforms semi-technical laboratory and research procedures under the general supervision of senior laboratory personnel. Research in Bettini Lab is focused on T cell mediated autoimmune diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes).The Lab Assistant will help maintain the laboratory under the guidance and supervision of the Principle Investigator, as well as assisting with basic research experiments including molecular biology, tissue culture and tissue processing. A major component of this position will include maintenance, breeding, and genotyping of a number of genetically modified mouse strains.The ideal applicant should be self-motivated and have good record keeping and time management skills. Excellent training opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in science, including graduate and medical school.
