SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE IT Project Manager in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

This role is responsible for successfully executing varied IT projects, requiring the consensus and approval of project scope, objectives and deliverables from key stakeholders/sponsors. The IT Project Manager must develop and uphold a project plan, ensuring milestones are monitored, met on schedule and completed within budget.

Key responsibilities of the IT Project Manager include setting project goals, developing plans, maintaining schedules, budgeting, and resource management. This individual coordinates with team members, develops schedules, and defines roles. Their responsibilities also involve overseeing production releases, assigning tasks, reporting progress, and ensuring that projects adhere to timelines and budgets. They employ industry-standard project methodologies and tools to monitor performance, conduct risk assessments, and organize meetings to review goals and progress.

This position typically functions with minimal supervision and direction, often making decisions regarding IT's involvement in the project. The role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills and involves substantial in-person work with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors and clients.

  • Engaging with stakeholders to evaluate and manage software deployment from an IT standpoint, which involves participating in project meetings.
  • Coordinating IT resources and scheduling to ensure timely project completion.
  • Creating project documentation to maintain project organization and progress.
  • Engaging with various project stakeholders, such as functional project managers and leads, vendor project managers, and vendor technical and functional leads, to manage expectations and ensure the progression of projects.
  • Regularly and promptly updating IT management on project statuses and issues to ensure quick resolution, and providing thorough and accurate reports to executive-level managers.
