Salary Range: $57,900 - $118,000 (depending on location, education, and certifications) Location: Remote Hours Requirement: Full-time 40 hours per week Job Summary As a member of the Interpreter Education and Professional Development (IEPD) department, the Interpreter Education Specialist (IES) will work under the direction of an IEPD Program Manager. This department supports a culture of life-long learning, celebrating diversity, and advancing professional excellence in the field of interpreting. We are seeking dedicated professionals who are committed to educating and empowering interpreters and educators through the development and provision of courses, materials, and curricula. This dynamic and fast-paced position collaborates and supports many programs and projects being developed and offered by the IEPD department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Support the IEPD Program Manager on projects and initiatives as assigned. * Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods to their programs and assignments. * Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop objective-based learning, classroom or virtual training instructions, participant and leader guides, interactive exercises, follow-up coaching and support materials. * Develop engaging educational content using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions or activities, self-paced eLearning, videos, lectures, and blended learning for a diverse workforce. * Work as a collaborative partner on designated teams with a specialized focus. Support as needed to workshop/training provision, logistics, skill-set assessment, mentoring, and other duties as assigned. * Serve as a trusted training resource and ensure that training materials, programs, and services reflect the goals of the department and organization. * Partner with Interpreting management as they and their VIs engage with our training products and offerings. * Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel Requirements Travel Requirements:  Less than 25% Education Preferred: Certification  Credentialing from a national interpreter certifying entity (RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC, BEI, or NAD Level IV or V) and/or comprehensive state certification granted through a certifying entity such as a Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing preferred. ASLTA Certification is a plus. Preferred: 4 Year - Bachelors Degree Preferred: Certification Active participation and professional membership in Deaf community organizations, the field of interpreting, or Deaf studies is a plus. Experience Minimum Years of Experience  Description 4+ years working experience as a sign language interpreter or Deaf Interpreter in a variety of settings preferred. 3+ years instructional design experience for web-based and instructor-led trainings a bonus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Demonstrate excellent teaching and/or mentoring skills, * Excellent communication skills, * Ability to communicate fluently in American Sign Language and English. * Fluency in presenting and teaching in American Sign Language. * Commitment to quality, learner-centered approach in interpreter education and professional development. * Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more of the core areas including but not limited to: instructional design and learning theory principles; applied linguistics; interpreter education; distance learning and innovative curriculum design; and advanced approaches in working with adult learners. * Ability to embrace innovation, a global and multi-cultural perspective, and an interest in interdisciplinary projects. *...
