CURRENT VAREX IMAGING EMPLOYEES: Please apply by logging into your internal Workday Account. SummarySupports engineering activities such as assembly, test, modification, fabrication and troubleshooting X-ray tubes, electro-mechanical systems or other test equipment. Works from drawings, diagrams and written and verbal descriptions, to perform testing. Documents test results and process steps to assist with validation of new products, tooling, equipment and processes. Trains production personnel on manufacturing processes to ensure smooth transitions from engineering to production. Job Description Key Responsibilities * Supports development of new X-ray products and manufacturing equipment including testing and validation * Uses problem solving techniques and root cause analysis to address technical issues with products, including manufacturing issues * Methodically collects and analyzes data from experiments, ideally using Six Sigma tools * Documents and reports on results of testing, including validation reports * Provides documentation to assist with manufacturing new products or assemblies
Preferred Experience * Associate Degree or equivalent experience * 5+ years of related experience * Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques * Experience with Six Sigma tools is a plus * Understanding of manufacturing process techniques and demonstrated experience supporting research and development activities to bring new products from initial stages into production * Experience with X-ray tubes or other high vacuum devices is beneficial * Experience with SAP or other ERP system, to build or utilize BOMs, routers and other manufacturing information * Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation: * Medium work that will occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 30 lbs to greater than 50 lbs * Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally * Reaching above the shoulder occasionally * Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally * Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities * Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion * Possible travel to customer or supplier sites. Valid driver's license.
