FIRST STEP HOUSE Employment Specialist - Case Manager in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

We are hiring a full time Employment Specialist Case Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah!

The Employment Specialist works with vulnerable people in our community who need support to achieve their employment goals. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and boundaries, as the Employment Specialist works with those who have substance use and mental health disorders. Our employment program is a structured, evidence-based, supportive employment program that helps people develop and achieve long-term career goals to enhance their quality of life. The Employment Specialist ensures that this program operates with fidelity to the model and helps with ongoing program development. This includes connecting people with educational and training resources, linking people with appropriately matched employers, and acting as a liaison between clients, employers, and treatment providers. The Employment Specialist assists with other administrative tasks, as needed, and works in concert with the priorities of the Senior Management Team and the Board of Directors. The overall goals of employment program are to (a) provide supportive employment, (b) help people with career development and job placement, and (c) link people to service work.

  • Pay Ranges from $40,000 - $45,000 per year

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Help build the employment program to ensure effective, client-centered employment services

  • Assess and determine client eligibility and employment needs

  • Assist clients in establishing employment objectives and career goals

  • Serve as a coach for clients, helping clients increase job readiness and build skills necessary to be successful in the workplace

  • Serve as a liaison between the client and employer to problem-solve and support long-term employment

  • Create and grow community business relationships for client job opportunities

  • Teach or facilitate employment related classes or workshops

  • Monitor program goals, objectives, and deliverables with accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equal experience.

  • Experience in the behavioral and mental health field is preferred.

  • Must meet driving insurance requirements.

  • Experience as an Employment Specialist or case manager is preferred.
