Clinical Review Specialist

Are you licensed as a Psychologist,Clinical Social Worker,Marriage and Family Therapist,or Clinical Mental Health Counselor? Do you have experience evaluating the effectiveness of mental health programs? Are you well-versed in ensuring that clients are receiving the correct level of care for their needs? *The Office of Coordinated Care & Regional Support is looking for the right individual to bridge the gap as a Clinical Review Specialist*.

  • This position is currently a hybrid of both 2 in-office and 3 remote work days. Please note,a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an assigned caseload of reports (15-18) and update the census board daily with completed reports,barriers and post-survey completion information
  • Conduct interviews with the youth,family members,case manager,therapist,and other team members to obtain information about the placement to help determine if it is the correct level of care
  • Use clinical knowledge,clinical assessments,and other applicable documentation to determine the appropriateness of the Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) placement for youth
  • Monitor and evaluate placement of youth within QRTPs,then complete reports based on evaluations to determine if youth are receiving the correct level of care
  • Collaborate with team members on complex cases to ensure youth are receiving the correct level of care
  • Complete Independent Assessments after a youth's placement in a QRTP within 30 days as required by Families First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA)
  • Complete the designated post-survey within 48 hours after the Independent Assessment has been completed
  • Navigate DHHS systems (SAFE/CARE) to review internal documentation by division teams; Juvenile Justice/Youth Services and Division of Child and Family Services

Ideal Candidate:

  • Licensed as a Psychologist,Clinical Social Worker,Marriage and Family Therapist,Clinical Mental Health Counselor,or have other applicable licensure as a mental health professional
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the behavioral/mental health field
  • Experience evaluating diagnostic information and making clinical decisions for placement based on assessed information
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans
  • Experience coordinating with other professional to ensure clients are receiving the correct level of care
  • Clinical knowledge of adolescents who require residential-level of care
  • Basic understanding of the Department of Health & Human Services' system of contracted providers and available treatment options for adolescents
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to be both descriptive and concise

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):

  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.

  • Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the ier II System. 

    • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))

    • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.  

  • Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

Paid Time Off:

  • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick).

  • Annual leave amounts increase with years of service. 

  • We have 12 paid holidays.
