Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description

A leading civil engineering firm specializing in private land development projects is seeking a Civil Engineer or Project Engineer. The role involves managing plan production and design from conception through completion on projects up to 3 acres in scope. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in drainage and storm water reports, utility master plans, and drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The engineer will oversee the design work of 3-5 junior engineers. A P.E. or equivalent experience is strongly preferred. Project management skills are also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage plan production and design of private land development projects from conception to completion.

• Run drainage and storm water reports.

• Draft and prepare utility master plans for subdivisions up to 3 acres/4000 lots.

• Oversee and mentor the design work of 3-5 junior engineers.

• Work on municipal engineering projects as needed.

Essential Skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Experience in drainage and storm water report generation.

• Knowledge of utility master plans.

• Project management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

• P.E. certification or equivalent experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in municipal engineering.

• Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 8 am to 5 pm, with flexibility of plus or minus one hour for start/end time. The position requires in-office presence 5 days a week. The firm maintains a close-knit environment with a team size of 15-20 people. Leaders regularly interact with and mentor staff at all levels. The firm offers hourly straight time plus comp time, with occasional 1.5x overtime pay when projects demand.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
