University of Utah Associate Professor - Professor in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The University of Utahs Department of Neurology is looking to hire an Associate Professor to co-lead the TBI and Concussion Center (TBICC). The applicants academic rank is expected to be Associate Professor or higher but is also dependent upon applicant qualifications. Currently directed by Dr. Elisabeth Wilde, this research group investigates the evaluation of and treatments for traumatic brain injury and concussion in individuals over a spectrum of post-injury intervals (acute through chronic), injury severity (concussion through severe brain injury), and age (young children through older adults). The center also studies a range of patients with different types of head injury associated with treatment in emergency, critical care/trauma, and rehabilitation departments, sport-related concussion and repetitive head impacts in athletes, injury exposure in Active-Duty Service Members and Veterans, and head injury associated with intimate partner violence.As Co-Director of the TBICC, the ideal candidate will have a track record of excellence in research, including consistent federal funding as PI, relevant publications, and an international reputation for leading collaborative science. The TBICC is particularly interested in candidates with specific expertise in womens studies, gender differences in TBI, and/or intimate partner violence to lead relevant research activities at the University of Utah. They should have expertise in neuroimaging and neuromodulation to support and expand current and future research in the TBICC. The ideal candidate will also have a track record of excellence in education, particularly with regards to mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
