The Burbidge Athletics Academic Center provides industry leading academic support services for over 500 student-athletes participating at the NCAA Division I level and within the athletic conference. The academic services team provides an environment where each student-athlete has the means to reach their academic potential through integrated and immersive learning opportunities. This position is an opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of industry professionals, student-athletes, coaches, athletics administrators, and campus partners to ensure our student-athletes graduate and receive their degree from the University of Utah.The Assistant Academic Support Specialist is a hybrid position, as the position will work closely with both an assigned athletics academic advisor and learning specialist to provide academic services to an assigned caseload of student-athletes. This internship is unique in that it provides a combination of athletics academic advising and learning specialist experiences while developing a more experienced and well-rounded academic services support professional. Interns will become well-versed in the experiences and knowledge of academic advising, learning support strategies, disability services, NCAA progress towards degree rules/eligibility, while developing the necessary administrative skills to grow within the industry.
