University of Utah Academic Advisor in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
The Student Success Hub provides a collaborative structure for advisors to support students across multiple programs, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and a supportive leadership team dedicated to professional advising and student success. This Academic Advisor I position will be cross-trained across programs to facilitate students access to high quality advising experiences while also allowing for variety and expanded opportunities for the advisor.With direct supervision, this position advises a large population of students regarding their academic planning and progress by utilizing professional advising and guidance skills. Interprets and explains university academic policy and procedure to assist students in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to degree completion.This position will assist the University in promoting a climate of respect that cultivates and sustains transformative practices by forging spaces of possibility where people feel valued and welcomed, and respecting all students in their quests for individual success through degree programs, certificates, majors, etc.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in communication, time management, and problem solving.
