Aerotek Industrial Maintenance Technician in Salisbury, Maryland

Job Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment in a food and beverage production facility. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, and processing equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC issues.

  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues.

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the food and beverage industry.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

  • Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
