Amergis Geriatric Nursing Assistant in Salisbury, Maryland

Amergis Healthcare Staffing (Formally Amergis Healthcare Staffing) is looking for GNA's in the Salisbury area! Prior/recent experience in a LTC setting required however, prior experience in medical/skilled nursing, addictions treatment, behavioral health, etc. are all considered when reviewing your application.

  • Position: LTC GNA

  • Facility Type: LTC Hospital in Salisbury, MD

  • County: Wicomico County

  • Available Shifts:

  • 3p-11:30p – strictly 8 hours

  • Pay Rate: $22.50

  • Hours worked over 40 will be paid out at 1.5 the hourly rate ($22.50 x 1.5 = $33.75)

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) performs direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Geriatric Nursing Assistant performs a variety of individualized patient care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding and transporting as well as related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the geriatric patient population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains patient confidentiality of all residents

  • Assists residents with activities of daily living and feeding

  • Performs transfers and lifts per facility protocol

  • Completes timely and thorough documentation in the facility EMR charting system

  • Provides support and companionship to patients

  • Assists residents with use of assistive devices

  • Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

  • Notifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings or conditions

  • Cleans and organizes patient rooms

  • Assists with putting away residents laundry and belongings

  • Assists nurse with admission and discharge/s to unit

  • Prepares patients for appointments or transfers
