Aegis Therapies Patient Services Coordinator / Rehab Administrative Administrative Assistant in Saline, Michigan

GENERAL PURPOSE

Enhances effectiveness of Skilled nursing facility by providing billing and clerical support

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Performs general office duties included but not limited to filing, copying, faxing, mail sorting, supply ordering etc.

  • Answers telephone calls, greets patients and visitors, schedules appointments

  • Completes/secures patient registration, verification/authorization of benefits, and financial guarantor approvals

  • Collects co-pays and co-insurance

  • Follow up on certifications, re-certifications, physician signatures

  • Supports TC/DOR upon request with KPI reporting, quality and compliance, marketing activities etc

  • Completes aide duties upon request, including but not limited to patient transport, laundry, clinic cleaning etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum two (2) years office experience including billing and/or accounts receivable

  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS

  • General knowledge of appropriate payer plans ad associated billing rules

  • Ability to manage, analyze, and reconcile daily deposits

  • Good oral and written communication skills including telephone etiquette

  • Good organizational skills

  • Understanding of scheduling and billing software systems

  • Ability to perform data entry including 10-key skills

  • Computer skills at a level necessary to accomplish the job

  • Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities

  • Good computer skills including use of desktop computers with Microsoft Office and handheld devices with ability to learn company or customer systems

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient, employee and company proprietary information

  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
