Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):

  • Ability to read and understand production schedule and set up pouring ends accordingly.

  • Ability to learn how to pour iron correctly and safely.

  • Ability to handle manual ladles/ratchets, slag skimmers and temperature lances.

  • Ability to push heavy carts onto a skip hoist.

  • Ability to manually knock out castings from sand mold.

  • Keeps work area clean.

  • Follows all company and departmental safety procedures.

Education /Training

  • High school diploma or GED is desired.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Demonstrated application of team and communication skills, ability to learn company and departmental safety procedures, and have the ability to thoroughly understand applicable ISO procedures and work instructions.

  • Background in labor-intensive work.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to understand the company’s departmental scheduling system.

  • Ability to learn to operate all equipment necessary for the effective flow of materials through the department.

English language functional communication required.

HOURS:

  • Hours are 4:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Thursday, with the possibility of overtime (usually on Fridays.)
