Aerotek Shop Manager in Salem, Oregon

Job Title: Shop Manager

Job Description

Reports To: Operations Manager

Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the welding and maintenance shop. Ensure all welding and maintenance processes meet project requirements and industry standards. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.

Team Leadership: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate shop employees. Assign tasks and monitor the progress of welding and maintenance projects. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to safety standards, company policies, and procedures. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures. Perform inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) as needed. Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.

Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Promote continuous improvement practices to enhance productivity and quality. Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and best practices.

This is a fully on-site position in Salem, Oregon.

Work Environment

The role requires working in a shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and heavy machinery. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
