Medical Assistant Supervisor

Location: West Salem Clinic | 1233 Edgewater St. NW, Salem OR 97304

Job Status: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week

YOUR ROLE:

In this supervisory role, you will provide the day-to-day oversight of the medical assistants in the West Salem Clinic. You will assist the Nursing Supervisor in the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of medical assistants.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hire, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, and terminations.

  • Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Provides input based on observations related to counseling and disciplinary issues. Implements corrective actions/performance improvement plans as required.

  • May process payroll/approve timecards for assigned staff following standard procedures.

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates the assigned staffing needs on a daily basis to adequately support patient care. Assigned staff based upon patient needs, practice volume, staff qualifications, and department policy.

  • Assist the Nursing Supervisor in responding to patient concerns as needed. Monitors and addresses patient complaints within position responsibility. Ensures the highest level of patient satisfaction. Works with physicians and others to address and prevent problems.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and training in a Medical Assistant program that includes coursework pharmacology/administration of medications.

  • Medical Assistant Certification as an RMA, CMA, NCMOA, NCMA, required within 180 days of hire.

  • Three years of experience in a medical clinic setting preferred.

  • CPR certified in infant, child, and adult levels.

  • Bilingual preferred – Bilingual in English/another language and able to pass proficiency testing. Must be willing/able to interpreter as needed in clinic.
