Listed below are the descriptions for the Engineering Co-Ops offered at Mississippi Lime Company. These are available for CURRENT students only and one semester off from your school will be required to complete the Co-Op program.
This is a multi seat Co-Op and will fall under the following disciplines:
Research and Development Engineer
This position will be responsible for supporting research and development projects with a focus on utilizing chemistry and engineering expertise for development and scale-up of new products and processes. Key areas of focus for this role include designing and executing new experimental studies on a lab scale, performing data collection and analysis, drawing experimental conclusions, driving pilot and commercial scale-up studies, and supporting commercialization. This position will be integrally involved in the company’s new product development efforts for calcium-based products with applications in a variety of industries including coatings, paper, environmental, polymers, food, water treatment, etc.
Process Engineer I
Front line involvement in day-to-day processes. Aides Operations in maintaining stability, studying, and correcting deviations, and providing technical basis for plant at the front line. Supports and leads front line improvements and control management.
Mining Engineer
The Mining engineer provides technical expertise, support, training and leadership to the underground mine. The two primary functions of the Mining engineer role are Deposit management and Comminution/Sizing. Although the mine has no formal external customers, the mining engineers ensure that their internal customer’s needs are satisfied.
