Job Details Under general supervision, the Health Informatics Specialist serves as a member of the project team responsible for coordinating and implementing clinical quality improvement (QI) activities with collaborators for specified projects involving physician offices. This includes generating clinical quality reports from various electronic health record (EHR) systems in physician practices. This position is responsible for evaluating efficiency and effectiveness and recommending improvements for all work activities that fall within the team responsibilities. The Health Informatics Specialist assesses providers' electronic health record (EHR) systems and identify barriers to quality improvement (QI) and reporting of quality measures (10%); serves as the subject matter expert in the Quality Payment Program and value-based models (5%); engages and recruits Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Independent Physician Associations, and provider offices for QI projects (15%); communicates with recruited providers regularly to inform them of project goals and ascertain providers' needs for technical assistance from HSAG (10%); assist POs in effectively using the EHR for care management and establishing procedures for reporting quality measures (10%); understands medical billing and coding terminologies, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, to help with medical claims submission of Quality measures (10%); utilizes problem-solving techniques and other QI methods, such as PDSAs, to demonstrate to providers how current processes may create or ease system bottlenecks and provides educational support to providers regarding how to reengineer existing processes and subcomponents or design new ones to improve performance and/or documentation on quality indicators that are below standards (20%); during face-to-face meetings with providers, discusses complex situations and/or answer questions (10%); and Report writing and documenting interventions using appropriate reporting tools such as SharePoint (10%). This position is 100% telecommute and can be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Compensation: $72,168 Job Requirements: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, math, statistics, or related quantitative field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 5 years of data analysis in the healthcare industry Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Advanced Excel, CoVid-19 Data, QPP, QI Methods, EHR (electronic health record) systems, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Must possess: Lean Sigma Six Certification
