Teachers On Call, A Kelly Education Company is hiring substitute paraeducators to work in inclusion classrooms in Saint Paul Public Schools. An inclusion classroom is an educational setting where students with diverse abilities and learning styles, including those with disabilities, are incorporated into general education classes alongside their peers without disabilities. The primary goal of these classrooms is to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to learn and participate within the same educational environment, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. As a substitute paraeducator, you'll be a crucial part of a supportive educational community, working alongside teachers and students to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Responsibilities: Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans, provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Work 1:1 with students or in small groups in a special education classroom, assisting with understanding and completing assignments. Promote social and emotional development by encouraging positive peer interactions. Provide one-on-one support to students with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials as needed. Maintain effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with District/School staff and students. Follow oral and written directions, ensuring maintenance of student and District/School personnel confidentiality. Assist in the implementation of an instructional support program with students of varying ages and sizes, including lifting materials and supplies as needed. Understand and respect the values and traditions of the diverse cultures represented in the community and classroom. Comply with the TOC Standards of Professional Conduct, including dressing in a safe and appropriate manner. Successfully complete TOC special education training (and District/School specific training, if applicable) before beginning any assignments, and meet any additional qualifications as required by the District/School and agreed upon by TOC.
