Aerotek Diesel Mechanic in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Job Description

Looking for a heavy equipment mechanic who will service equipment such as emergency vehicles, recycling trucks, snow removal machinery, street maintenance vehicles, wastewater equipment, used equipment, and vacuum excavation trucks. Most of the job involves troubleshooting, repairing, completing diagnostics, and fixing this equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing basic and complex repairs on street sweepers, snow equipment, sewer equipment, trash haulers, debris collectors, and some semi-trucks.

  • Daily diagnostics using Danfoss/Vanscope software (20-30% of daily duties).

  • Electrical and hydraulic work, including reading schematics and blueprints (60% of daily duties).

  • Hydraulic installs, pneumatic work, electrical work, and occasional welding (MIG).

  • Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems.

  • Assisting with inventory control.

  • Completing paperwork.

  • Customer interaction as needed.

Qualification

  • 4+ years' experience working as a diesel/equipment technician/mechanic

  • Schooling or field related experience

  • Diagnostics experience

  • Must have own tools

  • Electrical and Chassis experience is a plus

This is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility equipped with locker rooms for changing and showering before and after shifts. The facility features a top-notch ventilation system, heated floors, large bays, high ceilings with LED lights, and automatic hoists. The company pays for training and certifications, and employees receive a $1 raise upon completion.
