Summary Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant by performing the following duties.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university and one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Oversee entire APQP effort on all new product builds which will include the following:

  • Manage all new product kick-off meetings with pertinent departments

  • Complete and manage all levels of the APQP documentation requirements (PLEX)

  • Develop and finalize all process routings and applicable notations

  • Monitor the progress of new product launches to their timelines.

  • Develop program timelines and priorities workload to meet schedule needs

  • Report program status and action items to management on scheduled basis

  • Oversee and coordinate the manufacturing of all in-house machining fixtures. (Mill, Lathe, Hob, Grinding, etc.)

  • Design/Oversee all work piece holding fixtures for all processes in 3D CAD

  • Coordinate fixture reviews

  • Coordinate build efforts and manage to program timeline

  • Research and purchase required outside tooling when needed

  • Perform tooling studies and coordinate process improvements

  • Develop PFMEA’s for all new product launches and work with Quality Department to finalize control plans.

  • Develop all PFMEA’s in PLEX system per process routing

  • Work with departments to develop all inspection check sheets per operation

  • Final review and sign-off of all inspection check sheets

  • Developing work/set-up instructions for each manufacturing process and train personnel where applicable

  • Oversee outside manufacturing services and tooling builds on initial product launch (Including casting and forging tooling).

  • Complete design reviews with OVS tooling source

  • Complete drawing/CAD review and approval for OVS tooling sources

  • Coordinate review and approval of initial tooling samples

  • Process line-up’s and quality requirements with OVS sources

  • Develop supplier drawings for communication purposes

  • Participate in supplier quality audits

  • Participate in cost savings projects

  • Implement new tooling/fixture concepts to reduce product cost

  • Consolidate/Standardize department work holding concepts

  • Implement quick change over processes to reduce set-up times

  • Participate in corrective action meetings to investigate root causes and implement engineering changes where needed.

  • Assist engineering department with all data management, engineering changes, and all other related engineering documentation when needed.

Experience with Lean 6 Sigma methodologies, project management, metallurgy, CNC programming/machining and machine building/automation is preferred, but not required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
