City of St. Louis Security Guard - Roving Overnights in Saint Louis, Missouri

Overview

Employees in this classification will perform roving patrol and monitor all areas of the property to ensure to ensure the security of facility. Under the guidance of the Security Guard Coordinator, responds to all incidents and events that occur at the client site.

Essential Duties

Conducts continuous, highly visible patrol of

interior and exterior of

Treasurers Office

facilities

and areas commonly used by staff or visitors to City Hall

to determine compliance with parking regulations.

Reports suspicious activity or unsafe conditions including

any instances involving crime, disturbance or danger

to police or other appropriate authority.

Enforces rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.

Explains parking rules and directs drivers to appropriate parking areas.

Ask vagrants and any solicitors to leave, when appropriate.

Conducts traffic direction at special events.

Prepares written reports or logs of activity and observations during the tour of duty.

Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or Treasurers Office management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries.

Must possess or obtain a valid Missouri Class E or Illinois equivalent driver's license with a clear driving record.

Able to complete a comprehensive background investigation and 10-panel drug screen.

Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote security operations for the protection of people, data, and property.

Understanding of customer service principles and the means to apply them on a routine basis. Proven track record of exemplary customer service.

Excellent working knowledge of building operations, Security operations, tenant operations, emergency response protocols, lobby desk / console operations, and parking operations.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for public interaction and report writing.
