HARTWIG Regional President in Saint Louis, Missouri

The Job

We are seeking a results-oriented leader to become the STI Regional President. This position contributes to the success of Hartwig by leading the development of team members towards achieving corporate goals, profitability and long-term viability by identifying and utilizing our entire company's resources, knowledge and experience.

Hartwig is a CNC machine tool distributor committed to helping manufacturers control and power the growth of their business. With over 12,000 installations since our founding in 1960, we combine high-quality equipment with vast applications expertise to get customers the results they want.

Main responsibilities of this full-time position based in the St. Louis area include:

Main responsibilities:

  • Build and promote the Company culture including communicating the vision and living the values
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including issue management, safety, security and operational and commercial issues
  • Manage alliances with stakeholders to include internal and external customers, peers, team members, vendors and community
  • Assist with team growth and development functions which include coaching, mentoring, training, and the development of goals
  • Lead sales, applications, service, and office team members within a geographic territory in achieving objectives
  • Responsible for the sales performance of the team which includes strategies, sales assistance, order review, CRM utilization, oversight of database hygiene management, pricing negotiations and marketing
    • Achieve bookings forecast
    • Achieve market share target
    • Tracks to vendor quotas
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the team which includes financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, inventory control, collections, fixed asset management and expense management
  • Achieves metrics as identified by company leadership, examples below:
    • Achieves agreed upon return on gross profit
    • Achieves DSO and other AR related objectives
    • Monitors the % of service costs covered by billable revenue
    • Establishes and achieves a target for number of PMs performed
  • Further personal growth which includes training, classes, reading and keeping current with best industry practices
  • Manage regional expenses and projects within approved budget

The Skills

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years sales experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience
  • Proficient use of general business software and Microsoft suite of products
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, such as collaboration, listening, respect and work ethic, which lead to lasting and trusting relationships with team members and customers
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment using sound judgement and ability to identify and address workplace issues
