Position Summary:\ The Senior Buyer Government Programs is responsible for sourcing and procurement functions directly associated with the company\'s needs for all materials, parts and services for government programs. The Senior Buyer will solicit bidders, verify bidder qualifications and set up these suppliers in companys Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system. These solicitation activities may include preparation of Requests for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and conducting bid evaluations.\ Research and source suppliers for procurement of materials, supplies and services in accordance with contract technical requirements, including preparation of Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).\ Prepare bidder lists, verify bidder qualifications, conduct bid evaluations, recommend source selections and set up new suppliers in ERP system.\ Support and/or lead negotiations with suppliers.\ Convert purchase requisitions and Bills of Materials into purchase orders following company policies and procedures.\ Adhere to company guidelines for utilizing small business and disadvantaged business sourcing programs.\ Work harmoniously with engineers, project managers, technicians and other employees, as required, for purchase of products per defined schedule.\ Expedite and track inbound products as required to support project needs.\ Assist in investigating and solving supplier related issues.\ Maintain positive supplier relationships by:\ o Coordinating appropriate quality resolutions between in-house quality manager and suppliers.\ o Communicating engineering/product changes/developments between suppliers and company.\ o Arrange return of defective or unused material to suppliers
