Summary:

The Manufacturing/Production Scheduler will be responsible for all activities associated with planning the production within the facility. Creating, tracking, communicating, and ensuring production plans are in place that meet customer requirements, as well as manufacturing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

  • Determine manpower and equipment needs to support the production plan

  • Communicate with Supply Chain to ensure materials are available as needed

  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish as scheduled

  • Maintain ongoing communication with all groups, as to the status of jobs

  • Address issues as they arise to minimize impact and support OTD

  • Maintain status of production orders and ensure documentation is updated and accurate

  • Creates reports and provides ongoing information to customer service on order status

  • Communicates concerns or schedule delays to Customer Service

  • Coordinate smooth functions of and interfaces daily with sales, customer service, quality and manufacturing to ensure all customer needs are addressed and customer delivery dates are met “OTD”.

  • Participate in pre-release meetings of new product service orders as needed

  • Support implementation of manufacturing and procured materials

  • Plan materials to support production requirements

  • Monitor inventory levels to drive quick turn improvements and eliminate obsolete and excessive inventory

  • Follow up on late shipments, working with supplier quality resource as necessary

  • Provide a reliable forecast with updates as data changes to suppliers and internal management

  • Provide production scheduling in a lean manufacturing environment (labor and machining requirements)

  • Communicate with all departments and levels of management

  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • At least 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • 1-3 years customer service experience

  • 1-3 years manufacturing planning experience

  • Excellent documentation skills and proficient with Microsoft Office software

  • Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US Person

  • Experience with AS and ISO requirements desirable

  • Self-motivated team player

  • Hands on approach, willing to “roll up the sleeves”, and be a part of the solution

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, set-up sheets, travelers, procedure manuals and government regulations.

Computer Skills:

Must be able to use the computer and computer software as required by job.

Work Environment:

The physical surroundings for this position are inside a factory and product manufacturing environment with work split between the offices and shop areas at all the UMBRAGROUP facilities and at customer and/or vendor locations worldwide. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise levels are moderate to loud.
