Guardianship Services of Saginaw County Office Clerk in Saginaw, Michigan

Location:  Downtown Saginaw, 100 S Jefferson Avenue, Suite 102, Saginaw Michigan 48607

 

Compensation and Benefits:  Earned Paid Time Off

 

The corporation provides: Court appointed Guardianship and Conservatorship for incapacitated and/or protected adults; Organizational Representative Payee services for the Social Security Administration; and Trustee duties for select Special Needs Trusts.

 

Job Description:  The position requires that the person be well versed in communicating and working with the general public, as well as individuals who may act inappropriate at times.  This position should have the general skills required of any clerical position, i.,e., typing, filing, answering phone, and the general run of the office.  The position is under the supervision of the Executive Director or Office Manager.  The individual should also be capable of managing some tasks on their own, as discussed with the Executive Director. A car for transportation and driver's license is required. 

 

Job Duties

  1. Serves as receptionist, providing basic information regarding office.
  2. Answers phone, screens calls, and directs call to the appropriate staff person.
  3. Must have good communication skills (i.e.-grammar, sentence structure, etc.) both written and verbal.
  4. Type a minimum of 60 words/minute accurately.
  5. Operate and have general knowledge of the following office equipment: word processor, computer, fax, copier and other as designated.
  6. Establish, maintain and keep updated filing system for general office and clients.
  7. Responsible for all written correspondence that is related to office.
  8. File court reports and schedule court hearings as needed.
  9. Prepare reports/forms regarding clients' benefits and other matters.
  10. Makes routine contacts in behalf of office, i.e. scheduling appointments with vendors, and other business representatives.
  11. Must be able to reconcile bank accounts each month for multiple accounts.
  12. Must call to clients to fill out Representative Payee reports.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  14. Assist in assigned cleaning duties in the office.
  15. Responsible for maintaining and ordering office supplies.

     

To Qualify:  Must have High School Diploma. Experience in areas of business administration, data processing, English/Communication, and other related areas.  Must be able to type and operate office machinery.  Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. Must have a clean background check and pass a drug test.
