Requirements

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited Bachelor's/Masters Occupational Therapy program, with current certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board and Michigan registration.

``` 2. Requires physical abilities sufficient to lift equipment, transfer and position patients, and to stand and walk continually.

``` 3. Requires understanding and application of practices of Occupational Therapy in rehabilitation of physically disabled in order to provide appropriate treatment and to direct support personnel in carrying out appropriate portions of treatment programs. This is normally acquired through O.T. Student Field Work in a Rehabilitation Center and six months of supervised on-the-job experience.

Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to deal effectively with a diverse group of patients and their families, various levels of facility personnel, third party payer representatives, private physicians, visitors, and volunteers. This includes the ability to monitor interactions, as well as to promote teamwork, departmentally and interdepartmentally.
