Great Lakes Bay Health Centers Medical Assistant Training Program Coordinator in Saginaw, Michigan
The Medical Assistant Training Program Coordinator is responsible for overall oversight and project coordination of the MA Apprenticeship Program and collaboration with the Clinical Administration team for development and implementation of the Clinical Pathway Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

- Organizes and directs project implementation in collaboration with the clinical services department, human resources and finance.
- Serves as the point of contact for all questions related to the training program. Manages any reporting elements of the program and facilitates partnership with workforce training partners.
- Facilitates and directs clinical experience of trainees, partnering with mentors/preceptors. Coordinates coursework and instruction for trainees by assisting in selection or development of curriculum to be delivered.
- Reviews and is familiar with the on-the-job training and practicum objectives. Offers timely constructive feedback to trainees regarding strengths and areas of needed improvement.
- Demonstrates, teaches, and observes/supervises the trainee in clinical activities to develop the trainee's knowledge and skills and to ensure proper patient care. Fully assimilates trainees into the full schedule of clinic activities and provides/arranges a variety of patient encounters necessary for an appropriate learning experience.
- Supervises trainees by being physically present in the clinical environment for consultation as needed, ensuring that the MA trainee does not practice beyond their competence or legal authority.
- Monitors trainee educational progress and supervises trainee activities. Actively participates in the evaluation of all aspects of the trainee's clinical skills and knowledge base. Reviews and signs all trainee notes and competencies.
- Assists in development of GLBHC's Clinical Pathway Program in collaboration with the Clinical Administration team.

REQUIRED JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:Completion of a medical assistant or nursing program
Licensure: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or RN license in the State of Michigan.
Experience: At least 5 years of work experience in an administrative medical setting or direct patient care, preferably an ambulatory medical setting.
Skills: Knowledge of Medical Assistant scope of duties and competencies as well as health center policies, procedures and care environment. Current in Medical Assistant discipline and area of responsibility. Able to monitor and assess trainee outcomes in accordance with applicable College and legal standards. Ability to analyze data to develop new techniques and processes. Ability to evaluate program needs and formulate solutions that can be implemented within college systems. Ability to find creative solutions.
Interpersonal skills: Mediation and conflict resolution skills. Effective interpersonal communication skills, ability to interpret and translate information and communicate it to others.
