CAN Council Accounting Support Specialist in Saginaw, Michigan
Position
Responsible for supporting the Finance Director through assistance with accounting and finance activities.The full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Finance Director. The employee will work in the Saginaw CAN Council facility. Job responsibilities will require rare weekend and/or evening work.
Responsibilities
Assist with financial reporting duties including month end close process, G/L maintenance, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
Compile information for financial statement preparation
Process expense reports
Print checks weekly
Oversee grant invoicing, grant payments, and financial status report submissions
Coordinate with CAN Council Program Directors and Grant Specialists to implement and monitor financial grant requirements
Other accounting or related administrative duties as assigned to achieve the mission of the organization
Qualifications
Associate degree in accounting or 1-2 year of equivalent experience and understanding of GAAP; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; organized and timely; proficient in QuickBooks Online; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Planner all required); ability to work efficiently, effectively and with autonomy.
Annual satisfactory background and credit check clearance required.
