Sutter Health Supervisor, Integrated Disability Management in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

Provides, guides, and manages the operational performance of Integrated Disability and Absence Management (IDAM) services, policies and programs for an assigned unit or region. Supports the provision of Integrated Disability and Absence Management services and programs to Sutter Health employees through efficient and accessible systems in compliance with state and federal regulations, and applicable policies, procedures and benefit programs. Supervises Integrated Disability and Absence Management (IDAM) staff processing leaves of absence and non-occupational disability cases to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all IDAM programs and services (Leave of Absence, Disability Accommodation; Early Return to Work; Medical Management; Short Term Disability; Extended Sick Leave and Paid Time Off benefits) ensuring compliance with state and federal law, policy, collective bargaining and service level agreement expectations. Provides significant professional, analytical and technical expertise to staff to ensure compliance with department quality standards and attainment of organizational lost productivity performance targets.

Job Description :

The candidate selected must live in the Northern California Sutter Footprint and come on site as needed for meetings, work, etc.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource, Liberal Arts or closely related field or equivalent education/experience

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Highly developed knowledge of state and federal leave laws to include the Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Pregnancy Disability Leave, Donor Leave and Disability Discrimination laws governed under ADA and FEHA required.

Knowledge of Human Resources policies and statutory and regulatory requirements including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, California Labor Code, California and Federal Wage and Hour Laws, Workers’ Compensation Law, FLSA, and other applicable laws and regulations preferred.

Advanced knowledge of disability wage replacement benefits and how they apply to federal and state leave entitlements (State Disability Insurance; Paid Family Leave; Short and Long Term Disability; Extended Sick Leave, Paid-Time Off; Workers’ Compensation) required.

Demonstrated expertise in consulting with managers and employees regarding Human Resources and disability issues that arise through all stages of the employment relationship.

Demonstrated expertise in a wide variety of operational aspects of Human Resources and disability/leave processes or applications, specifically leave of absence, accommodations, fitness for duty, employee relations, problem resolution, benefits, job evaluation (essential job duties and reasonable accommodation).

Demonstrated success in conflict resolution, risk assessment and strategic & desired outcomes in DM

Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.

Requires demonstrated analytical skills, ability to influence at all levels, exhibits group process and facilitation skills.

Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of organizational responsiveness.

Knowledge and proficiency on computer software for analysis and presentation (i.e., IDM Information System, HRIS, spreadsheets, and word processing) required. Ability to organize, adapt and re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines in an environment of rapid change and growth are required.

Innovative and creative approach to case management, assignments and challenges is required.

Ability to work successfully under ability to be comfortable working in a high paced, changing environment situations and under unforeseeable circumstances.

Pay Range is $48.72 to $73.08 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
