JOB SUMMARY

As the Regional Sales Manager (RSM), you are a member of the Ohserase Manufacturing, LLC (OM) Team. This position is responsible for managing the company’s business in your assigned territory. As such, it is responsible for promoting the sales of the company’s products as well as the management all sales activities in accounts that will benefit the company and the customer, and to establish credibility through communication in a manner that will optimize the company’s market share, improve the advertising efficiency, help foster the company’s mission and values resulting in outstanding customer service. This job description will give you a guideline to ensure your success in your position.

ROLE: The primary role of this position is:

  • Manage OM’s business with new and existing Trade Partners to achieve profitable volume growth, distribution expansion, fair pricing, and merchandising objectives.

  • Ensure that qualified people are hired, trained, consistently developed, and highly motivated.

  • Provide guidance, direction, coaching, and ongoing feedback to direct reports.

ORGANIZATIONAL MANDATES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resource Management:

  • Ensure all sales position vacancies are filled within a reasonable period.

  • Verify that work activities are being performed according to guidelines.

  • Appropriately counsel and discipline employees whose performance is below expectations.

  • Ensure implementation of OM’S objectives by developing and assigning attainable goals.

  • Ensure that all direct reports receive consistent messaging and full understanding of objectives.

  • Encourage open communication throughout the sales organization.

  • Develop trust, delegate, and empower subordinates to achieve high levels of success.

  • Balance time between field and office to effectively develop the organization and OM’S business.

Trade Management:

  • Develop and enhance trade relationships with key accounts to

  • 1) build on OM’S’s outstanding reputation,

  • 2) leverage our strengths and ease of partnership rules

  • 3) create win-win situations.

  • Cultivate long-term, profitable partnerships with new and existing customers through business planning by initiating meetings, presenting opportunities, programs, & reviews.

  • Identify new partners with strategic capabilities to support OM’S’s programs and objectives.

  • Expand distribution of OM’S products to achieve Corporate volume objectives.

  • Effectively manage and allocate budgets/items/samples to achieve desired objectives.

  • Initiate activities to capitalize on new and existing business opportunities.

  • Identify barriers & challenges and recommend creative solutions.

  • Attend pertinent industry trade events to raise OM’S’s profile with key & prospective customers.

Cross-Functional Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure all marketing driven programs are properly executed. o Ensure Special event activities are properly coordinated, staffed, and managed in accordance to guidelines to achieve desired objectives.

  • Develop and Recommend Retail & Distributor Trade Programs that capitalize on opportunities that are specific to Tribal locations.

  • Secure desirable Merchandising, Shelf Space, P.O.S. & Product Distribution that is reflective of OM’s dominant share of business.

  • Ensure all OM’s products are properly priced.

  • Consistently report pertinent competitive activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Planning and supervising the daily activities of the sales team (this includes all aspects of activity: Reporting, Scheduling, Sales Materials/Tools, POS, tradeshows, travel, marketing strategies, promotions, development of new sales, etc.).

  • Establishing training and sales incentive programs.

  • The RSM has P&L responsibility. Meaning, this position is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting.

  • Recommending pricing strategies, including discounts and terms and conditions of sales.

SUCCESS FACTORS & MATCHING MEASUREMENTS

The RSM position will be successful when:

Sales & Revenue

  • The business achieves its revenue and net income goals.

  • The Sales Financial Budget is utilized to grow volume and is not overspent. Management of Sales Team

  • Positive survey results come from the OM team, direct reports and TMG shared service heads.

  • All sales staff has clear guidance as to their specific responsibilities and goals.

  • All sales staff work as a coordinated and motivated unit to achieve sales goals.

Sales Strategy

  • A comprehensive and long-term sales strategy has been implemented.

  • Procedures and processes are in place that will track and ensure that sales goals are met. Customer Relations

  • There are no customer complaints and positive customer satisfaction survey results.
