Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a large company that is looking to add a Payroll Specialist to the team. As a Payroll Specialist, your primary responsibilities will involve managing and processing the payroll for employees, maintaining accurate employee records, and addressing payroll-related inquiries. Responsibilities:

• Handling the collection of worked hours with precision and timeliness.

• Accurately entering and uploading coded hours worked into the timekeeping system on a weekly basis.

• Verifying the accuracy of time entries every week.

• Assisting in the audit process.

• Preparing make-up and final checks upon request.

• Updating new hires and employee changes in the accounting software as needed.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

•2+ years of experience in a payroll specialist role or similar within the construction/contractor industry

• Proven experience with union payroll and understanding of union contracts

• Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in using payroll software and other related financial systems

• Strong data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with employees and external parties
