Robert Half Medical Biller Collector in Sacramento, California

Description

A large hospital system is in need of a Medical Collector/Insurance follow-up specialist. The Medical Collector/Insurance follow-up specialist will be directly supporting the organization by conducting insurance collections for its many Acute Medical Facilities.

Required Experience:

• 2-3 years of hospital insurance follow up, including utilization of phone calls and online payer portals

• Experience with HMO & PPO insurance follow up

• Utilization of worklist based follow up workflow

• Ability to work with numerous systems (i.e., patient accounting, worklist management, electronic billing, payer portals)

• Daily/weekly productivity and quality audit metrics

Additional experience that is helpful:

• Multi-hospital insurance follow up

• Denial review and appeal letter writing

Requirements - Prefer 2 years experience in medical billing or within the revenue cycle

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Working knowledge of practice management software

  • Deep understanding of Third Party Payer

  • Previous experience working with medical billing

  • Experience with government agencies & programs

  • Solid understanding of procedures

  • Solid understanding of Corporate Headquarters

  • Expertise in Precedents

  • Quality experience with Coding

  • Well-founded grasp of Claim Administration

  • Earlier work involving Reimbursements

  • Hands-on experience with Vaccines

  • Foundational knowledge in Medical Coverage

  • Proven knowledge of Collection Processes

  • Proficiency in Workstation Support

  • General familiarity with credit

  • Foundational knowledge in mumps

  • Comprehension of Payer

  • Good understanding of Appeals

  • Billing experience

  • Quality experience preferred

  • Skills in Debit Credit

  • Prior experience with Write Offs

  • Practical knowledge of productivity

  • Solid understanding of Vaccinations

  • Wide ranging experience with Adjustments

  • Deep knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOBs)

  • Outstanding data entry skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook and internet applications

  • Strong communication and social skills
