Position Overview:
The main responsibility for this position will be to develop, own, and ultimately execute a digital capability plan for research and medical education that aligns to Sutter's overall digital strategy. Key responsibilities include:
Assessing the technology needs for a growing research and academics organization, including determining the best recruitment tools for finding and accruing patients to research studies, systems to support the more efficient delivery of research services and systems to underpin and integrate the operations, including with Sutter-wide platforms.
In concert with the Digital / IT team, building a data strategy for research - we have a rich data set and field many requests for that data, but are missing an integrated data strategy and vision
Oversight of the technological infrastructure to efficiently manage research and academics operations, such as clinical trials management systems, grants management systems, dashboard and analytics reporting, etc., including analysis of alternatives.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with federal and California state regulations surrounding healthcare and research privacy, data and information security.

EDUCATION.
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Master's: Business Administration, Research Administration, Health Services, Healthcare or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 12 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Communication skills, particularly the ability to translate technical issues into lay terms and to successfully work with technical staff on regulatory, financial, and human resources issues.
Knowledge of terminology and technical status of a broad range of research initiatives
Effective negotiating skills and ability to structure suitable compromises.
Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others.
Delegates effectively, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
Ability to handle difficult circumstances and make sound business decisions with little direction.

Pay Range is $83.00 to $132.80 / hour. Bay Area Pay Range is $94.32 to $150.90 / hour.
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
