Guidehouse Data Governance Analyst in Sacramento, California

  • Data Governance Analyst Needed! are building out a team of varying levels (junior, mid-Journeyman and senior) for a new initiative supporting a modernization project for the CDC.

  • The work will be on site at CDC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA with the option for remote work.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide leadership for and coordinate the overall strategic direction and planning for data governance.

  • Analyze current governance policies and processes and develop strategies to improve them.

  • Provide guidance, support, and expertise to ensure that data assets are managed effectively and that data is accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant that it complies with regulatory requirements.

  • Develop Data Governance Framework, define Data Governance Policies and Procedures, establish Data Quality Standards, develop Data Security Standards, define Data Privacy Standards, and implement Data Governance Tools.

  • Support Business Process Reengineering activities including As-Is/ To-Be assessments, Gap Analyses, S.W.O.T. Analyses, Analysis of Alternatives, process mapping, selection of appropriate IT tools in support of data governance.

  • Provide training and support to ensure that stakeholders understand and adhere to data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Advise and deliver training on data management best practices, data quality controls, and data governance tools.

  • Conduct and perform current state assessments; perform gap analysis; target ‘as-is’ state development and formulate the to-be state with associated execution strategy and roadmap project schedules.

  • Share analyses, evaluations, technical assessments, feedback and support in the planning and implementation of activities.

  • Prepare and lead presentations; participate in working groups, meetings and conferences.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in relevant discipline and demonstrable experience in assessing data governance needs and implementing data governance policies as described above

  • Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources (such as industry best practices, assessments, and lessons learned from other projects) into comprehensive reports, recommendations, and presentations at a level appropriate for executives and senior managers

  • Proficient in the use of visualization tools such as AWS Quicksight, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, including exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively and confidently communicate complex concepts – in speaking and writing –with team members and all levels of technical and nontechnical client stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects concurrently, work collaboratively with diverse teams, meet deadlines, and deliver quality

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

What Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in public health research environment

The annual salary range for this position is $89,100.00-$133,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
