Overview

The Distributed Energy Services Section of Energy Services is seeking a candidate that is energetic and highly organized, for the Technical Associate position.The successful candidates must have project management and/or team experience, basic understanding and experiences for overhead and/or underground distribution systems; this is inclusive of design, installation, analysis, coordination, negotiation, and direction. Must be highly motivated, goal oriented, extremely customer-focused, and demonstrate a strong Commitment to Excellence. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be able to exercise independent judgment, and possess the ability to render sound business decisions. Must be able to successfully build business relationships. Must be flexible, detailed oriented, and should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have working knowledge of the Company's rates schedule and tariffs. Candidates must have an associate degree or a college degree, preferably in engineering, computer science or business with one year relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance for onboarding new/existing Electric vehicle (EV) projects.
  • Provide support and assistance to progress, triage the new/existing Electric vehicle projects as per company procedure.
  • Provide support and assistance to Distributed Energy Services customer project managers/Specialist . Respond to customer inquiries and maximize operational efficiencies as a means to excel in satisfying customer inquiries.
  • Provide support and assistance for Distributed Energy Services manager or customer project managers/Specialist to establish and maintain a professional, timely and efficient work process between the Organizations internal and external customers.
  • Provide support and assistance to Distributed Energy Services customer project managers/Specialist at the EV Project closing stage.
  • Achieve and maintain safety excellence within area of responsibility.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management, governmental agencies and external customers
  • Provide support and assistance for Distributed Energy Services manager or Customer project manager or Specialist to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Interface with the Customer Energy Solutions, Distribution Engineering and Customer engineering Team and other internal groups to stay abreast of all regulatory/policy issues , and ensure layouts and construction activities are issued/closed timely to support the project performance.
  • Provide support and assistance for Distributed Energy Services manager or customer project managers/Specialist to Support the development of a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers, EV developers, and technology providers, build, maintain and create new relationships.
  • Ensure adequate and accurate reporting.
  • Provide support and assistance for Distributed Energy Services manager or customer project managers/Specialist to support, lead, facilitate or support process improvement projects across the Distributed Energy Services team based on guidance from leadership and feedback from customer groups.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on program performance.
  • Collaborate with employees and/or contractors and facilitate ongoing development and training of these resources.
  • Ability to review engineered drawings and understand interconnection scheme.
  • Support the growth of the program through such activities as the development of innovative program design solutions.
  • Actively engage in business activities that align with and support the department's objectives.
  • May perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Computer Science or Business and 1 year work experience and/or internship/coop with Coned.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Strong Ability to work in a large team Required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for this role Required
  • Knowledge and proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Ex. Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio etc.) Required
  • The ability to effectively multitask is important in our dynamic work environment Required
  • Work experience in the utility industry (co-op or internships) Preferred
  • Knowledge of business application support, configuration management, and system maintenance practices and procedures is important Preferred
  • Experience with various software design and development methodologies. Preferred
  • Knowledge of electrification and ongoing green efforts Preferred
  • Understanding of utility industry and knowledge of PSC regulations Preferred

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
  • Must be able to work off hour shifts.
  • Must be able to support CERC and all other emergency management needs

Minimum Salary: 72000.00 Maximum Salary: 75000.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
