Rye Country Day School Assistant Director of Upper School Admissions in Rye, New York
Rye Country Day School is seeking an Assistant Director of Upper School Admissions reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management beginning on August 18, 2025. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing activities designed to attract, enroll, and retain students to Rye Country Day School. This position oversees the Upper School (Grades 9-12) admissions process, as well as participating in school-wide admissions efforts. A willingness to learn about the School, our mission, curriculum, and admissions policies is essential. Ideal candidates will possess strong database skills and demonstrated experience using data for strategic thinking. Additionally, they will have exceptional interviewing skills and the ability to meaningfully engage prospective students and families.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead Upper School admissions processes in collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Management
Support the recruitment process by connecting and communicating with prospective students and their families to keep them fully engaged throughout the admissions process
Conduct and summarize student and Parent/Guardian interviews on campus and virtually
Manage and process completed Upper School applications on the School’s databases and prepare their files to be read by committee members
Read and evaluate all Upper School files as well as organize and run Upper School committee meetings
In conjunction with the Upper School Administration Team, assist in yield planning events
Manage the Upper School waitlist
Represent RCDS at various events both on and off campus including but not limited to school fairs, school visits, presentations, and visits to sending organizations
Assist other members of the Admissions office with various duties, including, but not limited to Parent/Guardian Admission Network & Host Family Program
Play an integral role in the planning and execution of all on-campus recruiting and yield events
Support and/or manage projects related to other office-wide efforts such as marketing and admission communications, data analysis, outreach, and event planning with an emphasis on emerging trends relating to multicultural student recruitment
Other duties as indicated as assigned
Desired Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 3-5 years experience in admissions and enrollment management, preferably in an independent school
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to comfortably, warmly, and effectively engage with large and small groups of adults and students
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community
Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively and proactively with all RCDS constituents
Positive energy, flexibility and a desire to participate in the life of the school
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
High degree of comfort and experience with computer technology; Veracross & Filemaker, is a plus
Additional language fluency a plus

Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000
