Rutherford Regional Health Athletic Trainer in Rutherfordton, North Carolina

The Athletic Trainer at RRHS recognizes, evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates injured student athletes under the supervision of the team physician, and in accordance with the North Carolina Athletic Trainers Licensing Act. The role reports to the Athletic Training Coordinator and works closely with the Athletic Director and coaches to create a strong partnership to support the health and well-being of student athletes. This posting is for a D1 university in the state of North Carolina.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate and treat injured student athletes. Determine when a referral is necessary.
- Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of the team physician.
- Maintain documentation of treatment, rehabilitation, and referrals for each athlete. Ensure appropriate insurance documentation is on file.
- Act as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
- Trainer identifies hazardous conditions or techniques and works with appropriate personnel or the student athlete to correct the issue.
