Kelly Services Warehouse Supervisor - 2nd shift in Rutherford, New Jersey

Kelly Services is looking for a warehouse supervisor for an automotive pick/pack warehouse in Rutherford, NJ.

This is a minimum 2 year contract with a chance to be hired on. This role comes with full benefits (including 3 weeks of PTO, paid holidays, health and life insurance options, and 401k.

Pay is $40/hr and hours are 10am to close. Close would typically be around 7pm but could be later. OT is available as well.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day outbound goals and objectives of the distribution center, with particular emphasis on the supervision of DC personnel towards efficiency and effectiveness.

Principal Responsibilities and Authorities :

  • Provide direct daily supervision of DC personnel to support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the DC.

  • Make recommendations to the Distribution Center Manager on programs to improve DC processes

  • Supervise DC personnel to achieve prescribed objectives. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates.

  • Implement a daily plan for allocating work assignments to personnel to ensure all work orders are picked, packed, and shipped according to delivery method.

  • Supervise all outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure that all records regarding activity are prepared on time. Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievements.

  • Supervise the checking of outgoing freight for proper counts and codes

  • End of shift report outs. Close building and secure property each evening.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards on the shipping lanes and throughout the warehouse.

  • Operate in compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.

  • Assist in conducting physical inventories as required.

Knowledge:

  • A combination of education (college) and 3-5 years experience in a distribution environment.

  • Front-line supervision experience. Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization, and communication.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of distribution center operations. Good knowledge of transportation and other associated state, local and federal regulations.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-organizational, intercultural collaboration. Ability to utilize a PC to communicate, retrieve relevant information and to perform data extraction & analysis work.
