Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal or Principal LSS Electrical Engineer . This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program . This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Launch Support System (LSS) is a team well positioned to have a major impact on the Sentinel program and is staffed up with many diverse disciplines to achieve our design goals. Our Team is tasked with deploying a flight test specific product at multiple locations across the US. LSS has a significant and valuable impact on range safety and flight data management through the life of the Sentinel program and coordinates with multiple other product groups.

LSS is looking for a talented Electrical Engineer who will: take over Subject Matter Expert duties for the LSS Launch Facility Racks, Lead Cable Management and Design, assist Mechanical Engineers with electrical portions of their Assemblies and Installations, and act as a cognizant engineer for LSS Electrical Systems when speaking to other teams inside Sentinel.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing Circuit Designs against voltage, current, control, or other requirements

  • Work inside CPLM and NX to document and control COTS and Specialty Cable Assemblies

  • Coordinating with the Network, Infrastructure, Deployment, and other Teams to ensure proper delivery and installation of LSS components

  • Consulting with Test Engineers on Verification and Test Strategies for Electrical Systems

  • Review and concurrence on Test Procedures, and Product Data Packages

  • Other Tasks as given by Management or the LSS Team Lead

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; or Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience; or PhD with 0 years’ experience. Experience must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related technical fields. 9 years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

  • Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years’ experience; or Master’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; or PhD with 4 years’ experience. Experience must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related technical fields. 14 years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

Both Level Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)

  • At least 1 year of prior experience as a technical lead

  • Ability to read, design, and troubleshoot electrical circuits

  • Ability to analyze electrical circuit characteristics across multiple Systems and/or Interfaces

  • Ability to professionally communicate with Program Leadership, Chief Engineers, and/or US Government Customers

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Networked Data Acquisition Devices such as NI cRIO or similar

  • Experience with RF component requirement specifications such as Mil-Std-461 or Mil-Std-464

  • Experience with custom built Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA)

  • Experience performing Verification and Validation of Weapon System Requirements for Electrical Systems

  • Experience working with DOORS and/or CAMEO

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Active SAP clearance

Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000

Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
