Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with training of staff and craft in the areas of new employee safety orientation, safe work practices (e.g., Fall protection, confined space, personal protective equipment), environmental compliance, OSHA training/interpretation and other policies and procedures.

  • Assist with maintaining all required safety management systems and documentation that are generated as part of work activities on site.

  • Regularly inspect the jobsite and maintain a strong safety presence to include auditing the team to ensure that safety inspections, safety and tailgate / toolbox meetings, pre-job hazard assessments, task safety analyses, scaffold tagging and handover, and other program requirements are being carried out as required.

  • Assists in investigating all reported accidents and incidents to determine root cause of such events and ensure proper completion and submission of reports to company, customer and government authorities as directed.

  • Manage all aspects of incident occurrences including but not limited to reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action, documentation, and follow up.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold current training in:

  • CPR/First Aid

  • OSHA 30hr. Required

  • Must have working knowledge of gas detection, monitoring equipment, confined space.

  • Bilingual Communication is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.

  • Prefer Certified Safety Professional.

  • Minimum 1 yr. of verifiable, petrochemical and/or refinery related experience.

  • Prefer a strong background in large turnarounds / shutdown projects with multi crafts, scaffold, confined space entry and hole watch / fire watch.

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions

  • Must be able to pass a drug test (urine and hair follicle)

  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a TWIC card

  • Two years direct working experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member occasionally is required to sit. The team member is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
